How to get the Lime bonus, step by step

Tap “Open Lime invite”. Lime says the new account must be created through the referral link, and the link opens a sign-up page.

Sign up on the page the link opens. Lime says it may not offer every sign-up method there, so use one that's shown.

Get the app and add a way to pay
Log in to the Lime app with the same details. The app is free to download, and you're only charged when you ride.

Your credit shows as a coupon in the Promos menu and is added to your next ride automatically.

Scan the QR code on an e-bike or e-scooter to unlock it. Lime's terms ask for a ride within 60 days of signing up to complete the referral.

Who can get it
- You're 18 or older. Lime's terms say riders must be at least 18.

- For e-scooters in London, you need a driving licence, which Lime checks in the app.
Is there a Lime referral code I can type in?
Use the link. Lime's help centre says the new account must be created through the referral link. RZ6RNZENB2E is just the ID of our invite.
The app has an Add Promo box for promo codes, but Lime doesn't say referral codes work there, so the link is the safe way.
How much is the Lime referral credit?
Lime's own invite message offers a £4 ride credit. Lime's help centre adds that referral bonuses can vary by location, so the amount you see when you open the link is the one that counts.
The credit works like a coupon: it's used on one ride, it can't be split over several rides, and any part you don't use is lost. So it's best on a ride that costs at least £4.
How much does a Lime ride cost in the UK?
Lime charges a fixed fee to unlock, then a price per minute. Prices can change by place and time of day, and ride time is rounded up to the next full minute. The app shows your local price before you start.
Regular riders can look at LimePrime, which Lime says gives flat-rate rides up to 20 minutes and free unlocks, with prices that vary by market. Lime e-bike passes are also available through the UK Cycle to Work scheme with CycleSaver or Cyclescheme.
Where does Lime run in the UK, and what are the rules?
Lime lists London, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Oxford, Salford and the West Midlands. In London, Lime e-scooters are limited to 12mph, you need a driving licence, and you do a short training in the app the first time.
Ride in bike lanes, never on the pavement, and park upright where the app allows. Parking in a No Parking zone isn't allowed. Lime strongly recommends wearing a helmet.
Didn't get your bonus? Common reasons
I signed up without the link
Lime says the account must be created through the referral link, so a normal sign-up doesn't get the credit.
My ride cost more than the credit
That's normal. The coupon covers up to its value and you pay the rest of the ride.
I can't see my credit
Open Promos in the app. For a past ride, go to History, choose the ride and open Detailed receipt: promotions show on their own line.
The credit won't apply
Check it hasn't expired and works in your city. Some promos only work on e-bikes or on e-scooters. If it still fails, contact Lime through the app.
