How to get the Forest bonus, step by step

Get the Forest app
Search for Forest eBike in the App Store or Google Play and install the app.

Sign up and type the code
Create your account and add a payment card. Type z0e699xY when the app asks during registration. Forest says the code can't be added after your account is created.

Take your first ride
Find a bike on the map, unlock it and ride. Pay-as-you-go rides cost £1 to unlock. When your first ride ends, the referral is complete.

Use your 30 minutes within 7 days
The minutes are used automatically on your next rides. You can see them in the app menu under Account, then My Minutes.
What counts, and what doesn't
Counts
- Your first completed ride, after signing up with the code
- Riding time on your next rides, paid for by the 30 minutes
Doesn't count
- Adding the code after your account is created
- The £1 unlock fee
- Minutes left after 7 days
Who can get it
- You're 18 or older, Forest's minimum age.
- You type the code while creating your Forest account.
- You add a valid debit or credit card.
- Forest approves every registration and can decline one.
Where do I type the Forest referral code?
In the Forest app, while you create your account. Forest's help centre says the code must be entered during registration and can't be used as a voucher code afterwards.
Forest's terms don't allow other websites to link to its app, so we share our code as text only. Copy it before you start signing up.
How much does Forest cost?
Every pay-as-you-go ride costs £1 to unlock. Many bikes come with their own free minutes, up to 30, shown on the map. After those, riding and pausing cost £0.33 a minute.
Your referral minutes sit in your minute balance. Forest says balance minutes are used once a bike's own free minutes run out.
Where can I ride and park?
Forest's help centre says it operates across 19 London boroughs (some Forest pages give a slightly different number). You can ride through Hackney but can't end a ride there.
In boroughs with parking bays, parking elsewhere can cost up to £20, and leaving a bike outside Forest's area can cost up to £250. Check the map in the app before you ride. Forest strongly recommends a helmet, and you don't need a licence.
Didn't get your bonus? Common reasons
I forgot to enter the code at sign-up
Forest says the code can't be used after your account is created, so it can't be added later.
My 30 minutes haven't appeared
They're added after your first ride ends. Check My Minutes in the app, then contact Forest through the app if they're missing.
I was still charged £1
That's the unlock fee. Free minutes cover riding time, not unlock fees.
My minutes disappeared
Referral credits are only valid for 7 days.
